Picture this: a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens in Palos Heights, IL. Samantha and Jordan had dreamt of saying their vows surrounded by the beauty of nature, with the vibrant colors of fall adding an extra touch of magic to the occasion.

As the sun began its descent, casting a warm golden glow over the sprawling fields of Knoch Knolls Park, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. It was in this very moment that Elliot Hicks, a senior in High School, and I embarked on a journey together to capture her essence, her spirit, and her story through the lens of my camera.

Elliot had expressed her desire to incorporate a big red smoke bomb and open field into her senior portraits. I knew exactly the place to fulfill her vision - Knoch Knolls Park, a hidden gem nestled in Illinois' Aurora. With its vast fields and abundance of natural beauty, it was the perfect backdrop to encapsulate the vibrancy and energy of this remarkable young woman.

As we prepared for the photo session, I couldn't help but reflect on the significance of this moment. Senior year marks the culmination of a transformative journey for many, a period of growth and self-discovery. Elliot's decision to commemorate this milestone with a photography session spoke volumes about the value she placed on capturing and cherishing these fleeting moments.

As the sun began its descent, we ventured out into the field, the soft breeze whispering through the tall grasses. With every click of the shutter, I couldn't help but marvel at the remarkable lady before me. Elliot radiated confidence, resilience, and a zest for life that was intoxicating. Through the lens, I could see her spirit shining brightly, her inner beauty eclipsing even the most stunning natural landscapes.

The setting sun cast its final rays upon Elliot, enveloping her in a warm embrace. The golden hour, as September so graciously gifted us, added an ethereal quality to the scene. The early fall greens danced in harmony with the fading warmth of summer, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that painted a vivid picture of the season of life Elliot finds herself in.
